About me
Hi! I’m Rebeca, a recent graduate from the Human-Centered Design & Engineering (HCDE) Bachelor of Science program at the University of Washington.
My passion for user experience design began my freshman year where I met a master’s student from the HCDE program who introduced me to a field where technology, psychology, and design all coincide. She described that there are elements of HCDE in everything we use: from the carefully chosen colors on an app to the ridges that improve grip on a toothbrush. As my studies continued, I was fascinated by the methods and mindset we enter as designers. I see my career as a UX designer as fulfilling the advice that my abuelo always instilled in me—that the only life worth living is one dedicated to helping others.
As a designer, I am dedicated to creating better experiences for humans. I do this by keeping the user at the forefront at every step of the design process. My designs are first rooted in research and later refined by my visual skill.
Outside of designing, you can find me doing my own nails, making mini clay figurines, or trying out new baking recipes!
